Applications:
The MC series of composite telescoping masts are lightweight masts designed for elevating tactical antennas to a height of 6 to 8 meters in a harsh environment. They may be shelter or ground mounted in guyed or unguyed configurations. The MC masts are designed for one-man carry and are ideal for all tactical applications. Features: The tube sections of the MC masts are fabricated with epoxy impregnated carbon fibers that are sandwiched by fiberglass fibers. The fibers are wrapped around a mandrel and cured. The tubes are then centerless ground, resulting in precision tubes possessing both an outstanding surface finish and exceptional physical properties. The masts are available with two tube section clamping methods. The standard method is an over center clamp combined with locking tabs on each extendible tube section. This method of locking the sections enables the masts to withstand high downloads from wind and ice loads without slipping. Using this method, the extended height of the mast is variable by a height equal to the length of each individual tube section. For applications where the mast must be infinitely variable at any height between fully extended and fully retracted, with no heavy download, the over center clamping method alone may be used. All metallic parts of the masts are fabricated with anodized aluminum and stainless steel. |
