Applications:
The MA-7 Crank-Up Mast is a modified and improved version of the U.S. Army AB-903/G lightweight, telescoping mast. This mast is ideally suited for tactical applications requiring either a ground or vehicular mount. The mast can be mounted on a number of standard military vehicles. It can be raised in less than 25 seconds with the integral, highly reliable hand crank assembly. Typical applications are to support omnidirectional and log periodic line-of-sight antenna systems. The mast can be extended to a height of approximately 29 feet and can carry a masthead load of 20 pounds. Features: The MA-7 has enhanced features over the U.S. Army standard AB-903/G mast design, and several components have been value engineered to improve the mast performance and reduce production costs. The total mast system weight, including accessories, is less than 65 pounds. Locking pins are provided to lock the mast in any position from fully lowered to fully erected. During lowering, a hand crank brake applies pressure to the hand crank mechanism, preventing the mast from being lowered too rapidly. The mast can be mounted on the following vehicles: M-114 carrier, M-577 carrier, M151A1 truck, and M-109 truck. A heavy-duty canvas bag conveniently stores the mast istallation accessories. |
