Applications:
The HVM-288 is a highly transportable manpack antenna designed for rapid deployment in any of four configurations and operating in the HF and VHF frequency bands. The configuration chosen for use is determined by the distance over which the communication is needed. In addition to being easily transported, it may be erected, used, re-stowed and moved in minutes. Features: The antenna features a lightweight telescoping fiberglass mast for ease of transportation and quick erection. The mast is extended by hand and each section locks into the extended position. All components except the black vinyl coated phosphor bronze radiating wires are olive drab. Characteristics: The antenna may be erected by one man in less than 15 minutes. It's total weight is 25 pounds. It is made to withstand the impacts and vibration expected in transportable equipment. The units are made water tight in the stored configuration so incidental immersion will not impair performance. In addition to the deployment bag, a duffel bag is furnished to store the entire kit including the mast. Equipment Supplied: Baluns, coax cable, guys, terminations, elements, transit bags and stakes. |
